Wedding Cupcake Tree

Back in October 2010, I did this cupcake tree for my brother's wedding. I made 200 cupcakes in chocolate, carrot cake, and lemon. I even made all the toothpick decorations. They had birds as part of their theme, so I hand stamped them all and punched out scallop circles and adhered them to the toothpicks.

Tada! Here I am with the finished product!

I was so happy to be asked to make my brother's wedding 'cake'.

Farm Animal Cupcakes and Barn Cake

I just love doing themed birthday parties! My cousin Willow had her 3rd birthday back in February, and it was a barn animal theme. I did some cute little piggies, chicks and cows with icing on cupcakes, and a red barn cake with some animals peeking out of the windows. She just loved it so much!

Willow tried one of each animal while we were taking pictures! It was so funny!

Minnie Mouse 1st Birthday

Here's a Minnie Mouse smash cake and 5 dozen matching cupcakes I made for a 1st birthday party last week. The cake was Red Velvet, along with half of the cupcakes, the other half vanilla.

Cupcakes were iced with cream cheese icing and garnished with crispy pearls, ears and a fondant bow, hand painted with white edible paint!

The cake was covered with fondant to look like Minnie's dress and complete with her big red bow!  I added some pearl shimmer dust to give it a girly flair!

Woodland Animals 1st Birthday Party (Part 2)

For this Woodland Animals party I did an adult cake (shown above), as well as the smash cake for the birthday girl ( with the owl).  I wanted the cake to resemble a tree stump with the chocolate icing. I made some little fondant toadstools and party animals to go on the top. There's a deer, fox, hedgehog, squirrel and owl, all with little party hats! I used some green sprinkles as grass, and a few flower and strawberry toothpick decorations.

I made the little banner using different washi tapes on hemp twine and tied it to wood patterned paper straws.

Here's the smash cake, complete with a fondant 1.

The birthday girl enjoyed her cakes and cupcakes! The first thing she grabbed was a fondant toadstool! LOL

Woodland Friends Party (Part 1) - Toadstool Cupcakes and Marshmallow Pops

I had the pleasure of creating all the fun goodies for  my little cousins 1st birthday party a few weeks ago, and I was so happy to hear the theme was Woodland animals. I knew right away I wanted to make these adorable toadstool pops! I had the wood stump with the holes in it (pencil crayon holder) and used some wood patterned paper straws, which matched perfectly! Marshmallows dipped in red chocolate and crispy white choc. pearls. They were a huge hit with the kids and even more with the adults! :)

The toadstool cupcakes were vanilla, dipped in melted red icing, with white choc. chips as the dots.

My cousin Willow had her eye on those cupcakes from the moment she arrived. As soon as she got the go ahead, she dove right in!! What a cutie!

Even the birthday girl got her hands dirty with the cupcakes!

Retirement Party

I recently was asked to do a slab cake for a retirement party along with 10 dozen cupcakes. I did Red Velvet and Vanilla cupcakes, and chocolate with salted caramel filling for the slab.

I used the redvelvet crumbs around the outside of the cake to match with the cupcakes. The company's colours are red and white, so it went together nicely. I added some crispy chocolate pearls on the cake as well as on the vanilla cupcakes.

Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!

Baby Bum Cake - Baby Shower

I made this Baby Bum cake for a friend of a friend's baby shower. She had sent me some ideas, and I came up with this one. I'm in love with those cute little baby toes! Those, and all the polkadots and blanket are made from fondant. The cake was my specialty, dark chocolate with a caramel filling.

I added some pearl shimmer dust to give the cake a bit of sparkle.

Here's a photo from the customer, matched nicely with the plates and napkins.
